A Typical Day
Let's Go to School!
The following "sample day" at Living Wisdom School reflects classroom activities that children in Grades 4, 5, and 6 might typically engage in.
Personal Development. We take 30 minutes to strike a tone of joyful learning. The children do energization exercises and yoga postures, sing, share, listen to stories, pray, and meditate.
9:15-10:30. Self-Expression and Communication. We learn mental clarity through writing and oral expression. We read, write, and practice spelling and grammar.
10:30-11:00. Snack Time. While the children eat and play, they learn valuable lessons about cooperation. We encourage them to be inclusive in their friendships, and we teach them how to resolve conflicts and disagreements harmoniously.
11:00-12:30. Mathematical Thinking. Some children work on mathematical methods, while others practice keyboarding. Mastering academic skills teaches the children problem-solving skills and concentration. The older children also practice word processing.
12:30-1:30. Lunch.
1:30-3:00. Science and Social Studies. We may work on "Understanding People" (social studies) or "Our Earth, Our Universe" (science). On some days, the children may do art projects, music, dance, sports, or yoga activities related to academic areas.
Special classes by trained teachers in French, dance, singing, recorder, violin, and physical education are offered throughout the week.
