Hafiz: The Subject Tonight is Love

The Subject Tonight is Love: The Life and Poetry of Hafiz was our 2004 Theater Magic production. The original script called for dancing, acting, and poetry by children and adults.

Living Wisdom School and this play's co-directors Cynthia Drayer and Andre Reyes perform a pas de deux that they choreographed to Hafiz's poem He Said, She Said. (Running Time: about 4 minutes.) Cynthia and Andre are former principal dancers with the San Francisco Ballet. Cynthia currently dances with the San Francisco Opera Ballet and teaches dance at LWS to grades K-1. Together they lead the Volee Dance School.

The Disciple Dance, led by Samantha Shireman and the girls of grades 4-5. (Running Time: about 3 minutes.) The dance was choreographed by LWS dance teacher Marguerite Fishman.

The Sultan Dance, performed by four middle school boys, choreographed by Andre Reyes. (Running Time: about 2 minutes.)

A poetry rendition by Rose Frazier set to a fire ceremony performed by various actors. (Running Time: about 1 minute.)

Anjali Madison delivers the poem Poetry Leaves No Empty Space(Running Time: about 1 minute..)

Casey Jones delivers I am Full of Love. (Running Time: about 1 minute.)
